Honoured to Receive Legacy in the Making Award at the Nova Scotia Business Hall of Fame
There are moments in life that take you by surprise and remind you just how far a journey of hope, and community can go. Receiving the Legacy in the Making Award at the Nova Scotia Business Hall of Fame was one of those moments for me.
I did not expect this honour. When my family and I arrived in Canada, we had dreams, and faith, but we never imagined standing on a stage like this only a few years later. Our story is one born from loss and lifted by the kindness of Canadians.
I am grateful beyond words to my family, who believed in rebuilding our future when everything was uncertain, and to our remarkable team whose dedication turned a small dream from Antigonish into a message of peace shared across Canada and around the world.
As I shared at the ceremony, the values that define this nation: freedom and opportunity, are the reason we had a chance to succeed. This award represents not only our story, but the successes of newcomers nationwide and the belief that peace can begin even with a piece of chocolate.
My heartfelt thanks to JA Nova Scotia for this recognition and congratulations to all the inspiring inductees and honourees who continue to shape this province with vision and heart.
